Dermaroller Skin Rejuvenation

What is Dermaroller?

I use the Dermaroller™ for skin rejuvenation and scar repair treatments.

As we age, the natural production of the skin’s supporting cells, ie elastin and collagen diminish and are not so readily produced. This leads to lines, wrinkles, sagging skin and volume loss.

The photo on the right shows an example of the beautifully smooth skin texture that can be achieved:

The Dermaroller works by stimulating the skin to activate these cells, allowing the skin to naturally rejuvenate and renew itself.  This process is called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) and is used as a less invasive procedure to surgery.  Skin needling is a form of CIT, a deep skin treatment, and can be used for a variety of conditions, such as for acne treatments and scar removal.

After a skin-needling procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis.
This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced.
It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen, and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement.

I offer two types of this skin rejuvenating treatment:

The Genuine Dermaroller™ provides advanced micro-medical skin-needling skin treatment via a roller device, which stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

I also use the amazing Dermapen which takes this effective skin rejuvenation to another level, giving amazing results with less damage, less pain and less recovery time.  I have seen some amazing results with the Dermapen.

Acne scarring improved after three treatments

The Dermaroller and Dermapen are very similar treatments, based on the same idea of CIT for rejuvenation, however the main difference is the angle at which the needle enters the skin and the speed at which it does this.
Skin needling has been a great option for clients who prefer to avoid injectable treatments, or for those who are looking at preventative measures, or simply an overall skin treatment, as opposed to treating a single specific area.

The Dermapen is massive in the USA and researched and tested to be faster, less painful and more effective than the Dermaroller.  See this fantastic article in Harpers Bazaar here.

The Dermapen is just as effective as ablative rejuvenation skin treatments such as Fraxel, IPL, laser resurfacing and chemical peels, but without the significant costs or extended recovery time.
The Dermapen works by vibrating tiny needles into the skin.  This shocks the skin, forcing it to go through the natural healing process.  As mentioned above, by stimulating the skin in this way it will produce fibroblasts, collagen and elastin – the components we lose through ageing.
These treatments will enable the skin to naturally smooth out and plump-up.

It is usually recommend that you have a series of three treatments with 4-6 weeks between them.  In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for up to five treatments.

Skin needling is undertaken after applying an anaesthetic cream to minimise discomfort; the treatment takes approximately 10-20 minutes, following skin preparation.

All after-care advice will be given to you verbally and in writing during your treatment, along with direct contact details should you have any follow up questions.
